Be Here Now

by Banana Blah Blah

At Mini Xspace (Level 1)

Until June 28

The exhibit focuses on finding presence within everyday actions like preparing tea, doing dishes, sketching, strolling, or engaging in yoga. For the artist Naruemon Yimchavee, who goes by the moniker Banana Blah Blah, these tasks serve as anchors to keep her grounded in the current moment rather than drifting into memories of the past or visions of what’s yet to come.

When making art, Naruemon prioritizes the experience over the end result. Typically, as a digital artist, she spends most of her time working at a computer monitor. However, she occasionally moves away from the screen to engage in tactile activities like sewing, printmaking, and painting. This change enables her to rediscover her sensory connection and permit the creation to develop organically.

Overhead Yet Underneath

I Sketch a Home for My Buddies

In Mini Xspace (Level 2)

Until June 28

"Above The Ground, Below The Sky" consists of a collection of paintings and watercolors created by Mira Sureeratana, who goes by the name I Draw A House For My Friends. This body of work marks a fresh phase in her journey through uncharted terrains.

It resembles a dwelling suspended between earth and heavens within that void. This encapsulates the sensation of drifting aimlessly, trapped amidst contemplations and the ambiguity of one’s direction forward. It mirrors the instant when existence reaches a pivotal juncture poised for transformation once more; at such times, all we can do is hope fervently that this change will prove magnificent and worthwhile ultimately.

Unconditional

by anonymous

At Main Hall Xspace

Until Sept 27

"Unconditional" delves into treating furniture as artistic pieces, with shapes surpassing practicality and basic materials evolving into expressions of innovation.

The exhibit showcases an audacious interaction between various textures and components such as zinc plates, coarse cement, and reclaimed timber boxes—materials typically encountered in building projects but here transformed into sculptural expressions. Each piece honors the allure of rawness, imperfection, and nonconformity, prompting us to reconsider our ideas about what defines furnishings.
